Principal & Lead Contact

Alex Glasscock has over 30 years of real estate construction, development, investment, management and finance experience as an owner-builder. During this time, Alex has executed numerous transactions totaling over several billion dollars. These projects include new construction on a large agricultural estate in Monkton, Maryland, construction of The Ranch Malibu property, acquisition and rehab of multiple Malibu and West Los Angeles estates and remodels of multi-residential real estate holdings throughout Ventura County, California. Alex has a history of successful relationships with premier lenders and high-end contractors. Alex is also the managing member of an investment partnership pool of individuals that he has worked with over the past 15 years. The investor pool has liquid assets exceeding $250 million and cumulative net worth exceeding $1.5 billion. He actively manages a profitable commercial and residential real estate portfolio.

Alex, a Dallas, Texas native, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and worked in commercial mortgage banking in Texas for several years before moving to Los Angeles in 1987. There he became Vice President at Union Bank in their Commercial Mortgage Banking Division. In 1992 he founded an investment company that had a residential mortgage banking subsidiary and sold it in 2000, before beginning his career as an independent real estate developer.  He went on to found The Ranch Malibu, an acclaimed health and wellness retreat with his wife Sue in September 2010. As co-owner and CEO, Alex guides all aspects of The Ranch’s growth, including the launch of The Ranch 4.0, a four-day version of the program at The Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, global expansion of the brand with an annual program in the Italian Dolomites and the release of two 100% organic plant-based cookbooks.

With more than two decades of industry experience and a trusted history of leading successful projects, Alex Cruz brings a multidisciplinary approach to Brodon Builders.  Holding certifications as a PMP® Project Management Professional®, CCM® Certified Construction Manager®, Certified Six Sigma® Black Belt, Licensed General Contractor and CMC ® Certified Master Craftsman, his knowledge and skill are unparalleled.  He also adds significant value to each job’s profitability, with licenses and training from three of the most prominent investment firms.

Beyond his extensive training, Alex is passionate about working with clients to realize their unique vision for their project.  As a trusted partner for clients from start to finish, every job benefits from his Six Sigma® Black Belt analysis, which results in an efficient and profitable outcome.  His warm demeanor not only makes clients feel at ease, but has also helped him build lasting relationships with developers, contractors, vendors, and business owners alike.

Throughout his career, Alex has amassed an impressive construction project management collection which includes 179 projects developing 7,495 Units with total Budgets Under Management of $2.2 Billion. Within this portfolio, Alex has worked on 1,126 units new Multi-Family, 83 Units new Commercial Buildings, 5,233 Units SFR Residential, 101 Units Mixed-Use, and 23 Units Commercial Remodels.

Alex earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from UCLA.  He is also involved with community service, using his expertise to assist organizations including Habitat for Humanity to build affordable homes in the Greater Los Angeles area, Baja Vision where he served as a general contractor to build orphanages in Mexico for homeless children and Inhabitat to construct disaster relief mobile housing.
